Fan Blower?

So pulled the blower motor out...and the space in there was filled with CRAP lol. Pine needles, dirt etc.

The "gasket" for the motor housing was also pretty much disintegrated, so there is air leaking out all over. Cant build pressure if there are leaks, right?

Question -- Is it a gasket? or is it a sealant of some kind? I really couldnt tell since it was pretty much dust when i lifted it off, but it looked like it might have been an actual gasket. Anyone know? I checked napa and rockauto and i only see motors, no gaskets.

I changed out my motor long ago. I thought it was a semi-solid seal, not a gasket. Much like the seal on the heater box when I did the heater core.

I knew I had seen something like that before. Being an amateur radio operator, I bought some of this:

Rolled up some beads to make seals after scraping off the old ones. Problem solved. Stays semi-soft in all temperatures for a long time.

Ok guys. So I got the motor sealed up all nice...and the airflow is STILL crap.

Is it time to just rlace the motor? Is there possibly a leak in the heater box? I just hate throwing parts at things without knowing why. The blower sounds like it's working. I don't know???

Tried running with it not in the box? Maybe you can tell more that way.

I'd leave the plugs off until you are under the hood, or get someone to work the controls while you are under the hood. See if the speeds do really change as you flip between different ones.

Maybe the resistor setup is just roasted.

I replaced my blower 2 weeks ago because it was noisy on low speed. The shaft/bushings/bearings? wore out and it needed to run on high speed to balance out.
For about 30 bucks it can be purchased at Autozone and it is the entire assembly with the motor and blower wheel.
Clean the OTHER SIDE of the EVAPORATOR COIL, you will may surprised how clogged it can get.
