Default Mas Air Cleaning?

Can the Mas Air sensor be cleaned out with brake clean or similar? Mine has to come off for a new cold air intake so I though I'd clean it at the same time.

anything wrong with it right now? do you get 5-8 grams at idle and 255 at WOT? If you really feel you must clean it, I would atleast go by Radio Shack and get a can of component cleaner. Used it alot at one job, works great.

Thumbs down Re: Mas Air Cleaning?

I would leave it alone. The actual sensor element inside is a thin film media that is VERY delicate. (For the original sensors...)

You can wipe the outside off with damp cloth or maybe even with Simple Green, but I would NOT immerse it in anything or use any harsh chemicals. Otherwise, it'll look pretty and do nothing. Could be a very expensive cleaning job...

If you HAVE to clean it, use electrical contact cleaner and be VERY gentle.
