Brake light flashes

Hi everyone,

Lately I have noticed that when I press the brake pedal to slow down (like being behind a car that is making a turn), my brake light will blink on for a second and then shut off. It does not do it when I stop at a light normally. It appears to be dependent on how abrupt the stop or slow down is. I have not had any other trouble with the brakes. Anybody have any insight?

Your profile states that you have an '87 GN. That means you have the Powermaster brake system.

Did you go through the diagnostic trees listed at http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/brakes/brakespage.html ? There are several there. Check those first. Chances are good that it may be a failing accumulator bulb, but do the diagnostics first.
